Canada - Our Home and Native Land

This past November our Prime Minister Trudeau visited then president-elect Trump at his Mar-A-Lago estate. It was on that occasion that Trump declared that he would impose punishing tariffs on Canadian goods crossing the border into the States. When Trudeau pointed out to him that this would kill the Canadian economy, Trump quipped that perhaps Canada should become the 51st state and that Trudeau become its governor.

A few days after this event, I was listening to one of the few prophetic voices that I look up once in a while online and this person was of course commenting on what Trump had said. What bothered me somewhat is that this prophet actually said, "Can you imagine if Canada became part of the USA? That would be unreal and it would be something nobody saw coming". I felt that, as a prophet, he should have been able to see past that comment and continue declaring, as he has done in the past, that change would be coming to Canada and that God would do something in our country.

Well, I wasn't impressed that as a prophet, this man would seriously entertain the idea of Canada becoming part of the United States. I was also surprised that a few Canadians left comments saying they would love to join the States. So I left my own comment - something I rarely do - to express my heartfelt view and I thought I'd share this with you as well.
"As a proud Canadian, I would never, ever want to be an American. Our country has its own [religious] foundation, its own culture, its own identity and most importantly, its own calling and destiny. Remember Chris Reed's prophetic word about nations rising up in true patriotism. Intercessors all over Canada have been praying for our release from tyranny and the slow slip-sliding into a totalitarian regime. What we wish is to see our Canadian motto re-established which is "He will have dominion from sea to sea" and for Canada to return to its roots so that it may fulfill its destiny upon the world stage.
So many are even now praying about our own up-coming elections next fall, an election that Trudeau, of course, is trying to push back. If Americans care about Canada, they should pray into our elections as have so many Christians prayed into yours. Many are thrilled that Trump won the election; we admire what you have accomplished, and are looking forward to a restored America, but Canada is not yours to take! One might be tempted to call that American Imperialism....
Remember the trucker convoy in January 2022. Canada rose up to fight against government over-reach and this move reverberated throughout the nations of the world, injecting life, hope and courage to so many and actually helped shift the future of some countries. Canadians did that. Canadians. Not Americans.
So please, continue to pray for us, but with a heart that would want to see Canada become all that it is meant to be in Christ. Thank you."
Of course, things have changed since I posted that comment. Trudeau is stepping down and it feels like the wind of the Holy Spirit is blowing across our land to shift the tide and to bring renewal and restoration to Canada However, there is a need to pray more than ever for our beloved country, a country founded on the True Faith. Every country has a part to play in bringing about the Kingdom of God on earth and Marcel and I believe that Canada has a significant role in establishing God's will in our time.

But it seems like the younger generation is more willing to give all this up for the sake of a supposed financial gain through annexation to the United States. I keep thinking about my Storm Clouds dream and I continue to ask God to bring greater revelation about the origins and effects of this storm because I believe part of it has to do with what is unfolding right now at all levels of government.

Marcel and I believe in the future of our country. It has been consecrated into Our Lady's care. It's patron saint is St. Joseph. It was founded on the blood of the martyrs and upon Christian principles. As with every other country, it has its own guardian angel, defending it against the attack of the enemy. Canada does indeed have its own destiny and a prophetic role to play upon the world stage that will hopefully fan the flames of revival worldwide. We need to continue praying and interceding for a new springtime for our land and for God to grant us wise and truthful leaders so that our country may recover, flourish and grow.
