I've not had many dreams with insects but the few I did have were not very pleasant.  I remember one dream where I'd found flies underneath a wet dish towel that was on the floor and I knew immediately upon waking that this wasn't a good sign.

Even though most insects that appear in dreams are negative, there are some that are either mostly positive or a mix of both.  As always, the context of the dream will determine which one would apply.

In general, insects symbolize minor obstacles, problems and annoyances that need to be dealt with.  These problems can often be small, but if they aren't dealt with, they can become a major obstacle to growth in our spiritual walk.  They could become "an infestation" that is then more difficult to deal with and get rid of.  

​

Also, as with so many dream symbols, there can be word plays such as "something's bugging me", "a bar fly", "busy bee", "they drop like flies", "bee in your bonnet", "ants in your pants", "make a beeline" and such well-known expressions.  The Lord loves to uses these kinds of word plays in our dreams because He is "The Word" after all!
