Proverbs 12:14
Abundance of good things
is the fruit of the lips.
Linda - September 29, 2024 - The book of Proverbs contains many maxims regarding the power of our words and how they affect the health of our body and soul.

The scriptures say that life and death are in the power of the tongue. Proverbs for example, is filled with instructions and warnings about the words that we choose and St James in chapter 3 teaches us that we have reached perfection when we "do not trip up in speech".

When we speak words of life with faith, these very words can release healing, abundance, strength, refreshment and blessing to those who hear them but we can also release curses, illnesses, disharmony and chaos through our words.

God spoke all things into being and since we are made in His image and likeness, we too can create - albeit in a different mode and to a lesser degree - and bring things into being. Our very mouths, and the words that come forth from them do indeed affect reality and the very outcome of our plans and dreams. Our thought life and our words (these two go together) have an impact on the very fabric of our lives now, and also in the future. We have all heard the expression "fake it until you make it". For the Christian believer it is perhaps truer to declare, "Say it until you see it" so that we may "reap an abundance of good things."
