Thank you Heavenly Father
for all of the blessings
that you pour out
upon our lives.
Let them thank Yahweh
for his faithful love,
for his wonders
for the children of Adam!
Let them offer
thanksgiving sacrifices,
and recount
with shouts of joy
what he has done!
Psalm 107:21-22
Marcel - October 10, 2021 - Thanksgiving weekend. At every Liturgy the presider declares, "Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God", to which we reply, "It is right and just!". It is right and just, it truly is, that we should give thanks to the Lord. All of eternity will be insufficient for us to offer the Lord the gratitude that He is owed for His unconditional love and unfathomable goodness towards us. Giving thanks is not always easy however. Yet we are exhorted not only to give thanks but to do so "at all times" (Eph 5:20) and "in all circumstances" (1 Thess 5:18). To fulfill that privileged mandate may require of us a greater level of faith than we have known thus far. The grace to rise to that challenge is surely available to us all, for "where sin (or trials and difficulties) abound, grace abounds all the more!" (Rom 5:20)
